Musical Play 3 - 5 years
Where curiosity turns into confidence
What's on offer
Music is one of the best ways for preschoolers to explore, express themselves and have fun. Musical Play is a guided, hands-on class where children discover different sounds, styles and instruments, and start to feel like real music makers. What happens in class Each session is built around play. Children explore a range of instruments and sounds, move to the beat, sing, listen and create together. I guide the group, but your child’s curiosity leads the way. There is no pressure to perform and no wrong answers. Sessions are bespoke and jazz-inspired, so we explore a wide mix of musical styles, not just nursery rhymes. What children gain Confidence to try new things and create Listening skills and a growing sense of rhythm Creativity and imagination Language and memory, through songs and musical games Social skills, by making music alongside other children Emotional regulation, through calm and lively musical activities Why it works In the early years, children’s brains are busy building pathways for language, memory, movement and emotional regulation. Music engages all of these at once. When I studied music at university, I researched how music shapes children’s development. That research guides how I plan every session. A great step before school Musical Play builds on our baby and toddler Music Sensory classes. It is also a lovely first step towards one-on-one lessons. When your child is ready (5+ years), Music Discovery helps them find the instrument or singing style that is truly theirs.
